The Geospatial Training Program is designed for you. Are you interested in learning how to use spatial data to answer questions and create some awesome maps? These hands-on training programs are held at the University of Rhode Island's Kingston Campus. If you are a planner, resource manager, utilities manager, student, realtor or are just interested in knowing more about spatial technologies, this training program is for you.
These offerings can be counted as Course Points towards your GISP.
- Introduction to GIS: March 13 - 15, 2017; This three-day training program has been written in collaboration with the University of Connecticut. In this course you will learn GIS concepts and become very familiar with the extensive Rhode Island GIS database (RIGIS) while using ESRI's ArcGIS Desktop 10.2 ® software.
- Using ArcGIS.com ®:March 16, 2017; Maps and Geographic Data on the Web: This half-day training will introduce participants to ESRI's online mapping applications available at ArcGIS Online. The training will explore "ready to use" maps and also explore the basic functionality of the applications. Particular attention will be paid to the datasets available through RIGIS.
