Objective, defensible environmental management can not occur in the absence of data and information. To that end, we have made delivery of environmental information to decision-makers and citizens a priority effort in our outreach activities. We have chosen to use the World Wide Web as our vehicle to convey information. The cornerstone of our system is www.edc.uri.edu/gis. Here anyone can access the complete RI GIS database, a digital atlas of natural resource maps, aerial photography, and GPS data. We are now working on developing Internet Mapping capacity to our system.
