1997 RIDOT Digital Orthophotography

Panchromatic (black & white) georeferenced, orthorectified, 2ft spatial resolution digital aerial photographs flown in Spring 1997 by Intermap Corporation of the entire state at a map scale of 1:5,000. These images were contracted by the Rhode Island Department of Transportation, and are available from RIGIS in both GeoTIFF and MrSID formats.

These two shapefiles are helpful for GIS users to display the approximate location of each aerial photograh, helping to identify which to download: GeoTIFF; MrSID. (There is one shapefile per image format type as the photos were condensed into larger tiles for the MrSID-formatted images.)

Three options are available for downloading these images:

1) Download individual tiles: GeoTIFF; MrSID.

2) Download tiles on a municipal basis (download manager friendly).
