Trust Fund. This fund was created through 2003 legislation that amended the 1996 Oil Spill Prevention Administration

Portal Demonstration Workshop
The Rhode Island Habitat Restoration Team (RIHRT) held a series of public workshops in the fall of 2003 to
demonstrate the Rhode Island Habitat Restoration Portal and three restoration site selection tools. The
objectives of the workshops were to demonstrate the Portal and site selection tool capabilities, engage stakeholders
and the public in identifying the priorities for protecting, improving, and restoring habitats at identified sites,
and establish a framework for obtaining public input on priority habitat restoration projects for future funding
initiatives. Workshop participants included federal and state agencies, nonprofit groups, watershed councils,
academia, private business owners, neighborhood associations, the Massachusetts Wetlands Restoration program,
Senator Chafee’s office and members of the community.
