Public Use: Boat Ramp Impacts: There are a couple of tidal restrictions. One is an eight-foot wide, earthen-dam footpath out to the island, which has a small high marsh behind it. Another restriction is a 10-15 foot wide old escape road which was allowed to open. There is no drainage connection to the freshwater wetland on the other side of the road. Tides are completely restricted at this vicinity and 5-20% of the vegetative cover is invasive. An extensive stand of phragmites can be found south of the tidal restriction. Yard waste is present on the site. 36-50% of adjacent upland areas within 500'of marsh consists of impervious surfaces. <5% of upland/marsh perimeter consists of man-made shoreline armoring. An unmanaged vegetative buffer zone occurs along 26-50% of the upland/marsh perimeter. (reported STB,1996) Project Size: Not documented for this site. Area Benefited: Not documented for this site.
