Ph.D., Utah State University, 1994 Dr. Paton's research focuses on avian ecology and applied conservation biology. He is interested in a broad array of topics including the population ecology of neotropical migratory birds, the effects of restoration of New Englands salt marshes on Saltmarsh Sharp-tailed Sparrows, the impacts of oil spills on avian populations, factors affecting plover populations along the coast, and amphibian community structure in vernal ponds in southern New England.
