Internet Map Server (IMS)
IMS is quickly becoming the preferred way to share spatial data with the public. This new technology
is a means of publishing GIS projects on a website for interactive use by anyone with high-speed access to the Internet.
There is no need for the user to have formal GIS training or expensive GIS software, only a brief orientation is
necessary to familiarize the user with the available tools.
NOTE: For peak performance, an IMS is best used with Internet Explorer version 4 or higher via a highspeed
internet connection.
