The Rhode Island Digital Atlas is an online mapping initiative lead by the University of Rhode Island Geospatial Extension Program, in partnership with the URI Environmental Data Center.

This website features simple, easy-to-use maps that tap into the wealth of information available from the Rhode Island Geographic Information System (RIGIS). The maps are accessible in a variety of formats suited to meet the needs of people ranging from those who are simply interested in exploring Rhode Island, to professionals who are interested in using these maps as background layers within a Geographic Information System (GIS).

We are grateful to our sponsors for the financial and programmatic support that was essential to laying the foundation and building the subsequent components that power the RI Digital Atlas:

We would particularly like to acknowledge the University of Connecticut Center for Land Use Education and Research (CLEAR), whose Connecticut Community Resource Inventory  provided much inspiration for the Rhode Island Digital Atlas.

Members of the National Geospatial Technology Extension Network, National NEMO Network, and the Rhode Island Land and Water Partnership also provided valuable feedback during the development of this website.

The Rhode Island Digital Atlas is dedicated to those conservation organizations that are tirelessly working to preserve, conserve, and protect Rhode Island's natural resources. Their efforts are appreciated by current and future generations of Rhode Islanders.
